چکیده

Using the idea of the optimal decomposition developed in recent papers [EK2] by the same authors and in [CUK] we study the boundedness of the operator Tg(x) = ∫ 1 x g(u) du/u, x ∈ (0, 1), and its logarithmic variant between Lorentz spaces and exponential Orlicz and Lorentz-Orlicz spaces. These operators are naturally linked with Moser’s lemma, O’Neil’s convolution inequality, and estimates for functions with prescribed rearrangement. We give sufficient conditions for and very simple proofs of uniform boundedness of exponential and double exponential integrals in the spirit of the celebrated lemma due to Moser [Mo].

A constructive quantum Lovasz local lemma for commuting projectors

The Quantum Satisfiability problem generalizes the Boolean satisfiability problem to the quantum setting by replacing classical clauses with local projectors. The Quantum Lovász Local Lemma gives a sufficient condition for a Quantum Satisfiability problem to be satisfiable [AKS12], by generalizing the classical Lovász Local Lemma. The next natural question that arises is: can a satisfying quant...

An Information-Theoretic Proof of the Constructive Commutative Quantum Lovász Local Lemma

The Quantum Lovász Local Lemma (QLLL) [AKS12] establishes non-constructively that any quantum system constrained by a local Hamiltonian has a zero-energy ground state, if the local Hamiltonian terms overlap only in a certain restricted way. In this paper, we present an efficient quantum algorithm to prepare this ground state for the special case of commuting projector terms. The related classic...

Littlewood problem for a singular subquadratic potential ( Dedicated to Professor George R . Sell

We consider a periodically forced singular oscillator in which the potential has subquadratic growth at infinity and admits a singularity. Using Moser’s twist theorem of invariant curves, we show the existence of quasi-periodic solutions. This solves the Littlewood problem on the boundedness of all solutions for such a system.

Three Proofs of a Constructive Commuting Quantum Lovász Local Lemma

The recently proven Quantum Lovász Local Lemma generalises the well-known Lovász Local Lemma. It states that, if a collection of subspace constraints are “weakly dependent”, there necessarily exists a state satisfying all constraints. It implies e.g. that certain instances of the quantum k–QSAT satisfiability problem are necessarily satisfiable, or that many-body systems with “not too many” int...

Corrigendum Non-trivial Non-negative Periodic Solutions of a System of Doubly Degenerate Parabolic Equations with Nonlocal Terms

We correct a flaw in the proof of [1, Lemma 2.3]. 1. Corrigendum. This Corrigendum concerns the proof of [1, Lemma 2.3]. In that proof there is a flaw in the estimate of log xk due to an incorrect inequality. We provide here a correct estimate of log xk in 1.5 which preserves the validity of Lemma 2.3. For the reader convenience we recall the statement of Lemma 2.3 and we give its complete proo...
